Lime park Recci
Today I visited a little gem of a wedding venue on the edge of the north coast, ‘Lime Park’ cottages near Armoy. For any couple searching for that authentic rustic venue, believe me this is it. The lovely Shelly greeted us with tea and biscuits and showed us around her ‘Baby’. There was Fiona from ‘Fiona Jamison Photography’ Claire from Archive 12 (vintage bridal gowns) and myself, all there to check the place out for a wedding shoot.From the old swing hanging from the tallest tree ever, to the snow drops in their droves underfoot, to the quirky old archives such as baths, old stone walls and rusty backdrops in the reception room, I would challenge anyone not to be charmed by this venue, we were enchanted.
Shelly explained that there is something lovely in the gardens for every season. We will be back in May to shoot when the cherry blossoms will be in bloom in the orchard and the Bluebells on the banks in the lane , and in summer the heady scent of Camomile is in the air in one of the many little nooks for photographs.
The cottages are rustic in their entirety , unbelievably quaint, yet not twee, there is an authenticity about the place, it is the home of Shelly and her family and has been in the past a working farm, all evident by the farming paraphernalia used throughout the cottages. For example, a watering can adapted to become a tap in one of the toilets, old beams above windows, and outside rustic chairs with tin troughs on top filled with flowers. You can stay in one of the lovely little adapted cottages named ‘Piggy’s House’ originally the pig Sty! No smell now I might add, beautiful and well equipped for a self catering holiday.
